Research interests:
My research interests focus on ecology of avian populations in a variety of habitats. So far, I have studied population dynamics using various monitoring approaches (along with abundance and occupancy modeling) and demography of avian populations (including modeling of survival rates). Forest birds are currently at the centre of my interests. My side projects include various topics related to bird identification (large gulls), ecology and behaviour (e.g., mate choice), while previous studies focused on natural hybridization and migration ecology. I am also interested in wood-decaying fungi of old-growth (and other) forests.

Research interests:
My interests focus on the ecology and behavior of birds, especially on issues relating to reproductive strategies, adaptations to the changing environment of life and relationships with other organisms (food sources, predators). During 2008-2015 I participated in studies conducted in the primeval forest - strictly protected area of the Białowieża National Park. My work concentrated on the breeding phenology of the Great Tit Parus major, factors which directly affect the timing of breeding, synchronization of the breeding season with caterpillar peaks, and the influence this has on breeding success. Currently I participate in studies of biology and ethology of urban blackbird Turdus merula populations.
Then I participated in studies of biology and ethology of the urban population of blackbird Turdus merula (Żeromski Park in Szczecin). My main goal was to determine the factors influencing the reproductive success of birds and the impact of the stress level (determined on the basis of blood counts and the content of various elements in the body) on the survival of an individual and its reproductive biology.
Currently, together with my team, I am continuing ornithological research in the Białowieża National Park.
